Another credit card story

Hi,

Barbara was walking round a supermarket with her purse in her hand, when she noticed her credit cards were missing. Quick look round, then phone the card company to cancel. Two days later, a new card arrives in the post. "Golly gosh, that was quick!"

That afternoon, I brimmed the Land Rover tank at TESCO, Barbara paid with her new card. Problem! "It has to be verified by the card company", said the cashier. We waited ... and waited .... and waited. We tried offering to pay with another card, but this was declined. After half an hour, the cashier did accept payment with another card. We departed, all po-faced.

Two days later ..... another card arrived through the post.

We managed to work out that the first card was intended to replace the lost card (which was due to time expire) and was probably posted before the loss of that card was reported. The second card was to replace the same lost card ..... because it had been lost.

We assume the first card was the same mumber as the old card, and we were kept waiting for half an hour, for Plod to arrive.
