Thought it might be useful, to update average price for Diesel in France..If you stop on Motorway expect to pay 1.45euro, but in Supermarket like Carrefour etc around 1.31euro and if you look around can get it for 1.21euro. If you use TomTom google and put in petrol in area I have seen it go as low as 1.15euro...

Thank you for the info. It is also cheaper per litre in Spain if you go there as well.

However, do be careful when filling up in France as they sell biodiesel as well. It is supposed to be marked clearly but with many things French, may not always be so. Some engines do not like 30%biodiesel and may splutter a lot. It is more likely to happen at smaller roadside garages but just watch the pump labelling.

Most of us are suffering the high prices here in the UK. Although wholsesale prices have fallen to about 2008 levels the pump price is still high., This is 'explained' by extra tax, yes we did notice, and the fact the Pound has dropped against the Dollar, yes, we noticed. So heads they win tails we lose. On te bright side we are stilp cheaper than Holland and Germany so i believe

Thanks for the info guys.

Is this the 30% biodiesel officially named 'B30' that most of our vans are not designed to run on?

If it is not clearly labelled how else can one tell - is it that the 30% bio diesel is so much cheaper than the usual 7% bio content which is similar to the stuff we get here?

In which case perhaps it pays NOT to buy cheap fuel?

Allegedly this high bio stuff is incompatible with some of the seals in the injector pump and cause them to fail at a later date which is much earlier than one would expect and can make it very expensive cheap fuel?
