domiuk Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Hello, I am after your help in choosing next years camping holiday so i am after your knowledge on my perfect campsite!! There will be 17 of us going next year with 9 kids ranging from 7-13 , we would like a campsite either on the beach or very very near with its own swimming pool (just on the off chance we had some bad weather!!) Any help would be great. Thanks Domiuk :-D
Retread24800 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Hi and welcome :-)I lived near Westward Ho! for many years and while there are campsites near the Beach there aren't any I would recommend for a family holiday. Unless Surfing is a 'must do' I would avoid N.Devon and N Cornwall unless you are prepared to stay with the children 100% of the time, these beaches can be dangerous, Thats why they keep a rescue helicopter at RNB Chivernor! You would be perhaps better advised to visit the South coast, Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Sidmouth, there are a lot of camp sites on Dawlish Warren too.Google 'Croyde Bay Camping' will give you a choice on the finest surf beach in North Devon, a more child safe one might be Saunton Sands.
