Simon
Any recommendations as to which are the best of these? I know Parma and Riverway do them, but I was also interested in the Climair ones, although I can`t find any websites that do them for a Fiat Ducato. Simon. KeithR
i asked this question last year on this forum. i took the advice of the many positive replies and bought the parma deflectors. excellent, and they only took minutes to install (whilst free camping in sete). keithr
BrianR
I have had the usual problems with badly fitting Boxer/Ducato cab doors, which has got worse over time, to the point where the cab light flashed on when an artic went by on the Continent. Last week I bought a set of wind deflectors from Riversway Leisure at £44.90 inc p&p. They were the cheapest I could find on the web and are made by Reimo. They were easy to fit and seem to have virtually eliminated the problem. A bonus is that they have also reduced the wind noise. Brian
BrianR
Returning to this topic, I have just returned from a 3,500 mile trip on the Continent and, sad to say, the wind deflectors did not reduce the incidence of the drivers cab door opening at the top. However, they did reduce the noise and the draught, so they are worth having for that reason. Any suggestions as to what I can try next? The door hinge bolts are tight and my garage can't suggest any cure, other than taking it to a bodywork specialist. Brian
Simon
Essanjay in Dorset do a `modification` to the door which involves bending the window frame inwards slightly - it has to be the right amount!! Remember seeing this in an article in an old MMM. I used to suffer from the wind noise in our last motorhome - a Fiat based coachbuilt, but haven`t had a problem with our current Fiat based van conversion. I got some wind deflectors from a show and their main purpose was to reduce wind noise with the windows open. The only disadvantage is that the dogs in the back don`t get a nice flow of air - we now have to open windows in the back when travelling in warmer weather. Next van will have air-con!! Basil
I got mine from Parma Industries Eastlands Industrial Estate, Leiston, IP16 4LL Tele 01728 833899 but I think Riversway Leisure do them to www.riverswayleisure.com ours work fine, reduce the noise and allow open windows without the draft. david lloyd
daniel - 2006-08-20 2:49 PM could you tell me where you geot these from? cheers daniel
Daniel There is a piece in the new (september) issue of MMM on the Parma ones - page 209 in the 'marketplace' section. I have had the ones from Riversway Leisure before and they were very good too. I now have a set fro my new Renault master bought at the Lincoln show. Can't remember now the stall but the deflectors have a red mark 'G3' on them and they are doing the job perfectly. Regards, david
w1ntersun
Hi, Here is one suggestion I heard about and thought of doing as it is a double edged modification.Get a pair of overcentre catches, the type that tighten up as the catch is flipped. Fit the over centre catch on the inside upper body above the door and the other on the top of the door.Use the catches when required to stop the wind and also acts as a security catch when parked up
