deerhound Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 My insurance is due in couple weeks, this will be only second year for motorhome but have 2 other cars, been driving since 1967 with no claims convictions of any kind and my renewel has gone up by almost £50. is there any particular companies I could try? I am not a member of any clubs etc. I have tried several in one magazine which were just out of question, have less than 1000mls in first year in motorhome. Thank you for any advice. >:-(
donna miller Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 We get a great deal from Frank Pickles, I've recommended him to a few friends who've taken out policies with them

CliveH Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Great post Flicka Really useful data. Tho I am surprised Adrian Flux came out as so expensive - I do not run a MH - but a 4x4 to tow the "shed" and Adrian Flux have consistantly come out the least expensive AND - this includes the modifications listed on the vehicle that most other insurers try to clobber you for.
flicka Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 That's one of the problems with any survey, Clive. They are normally based a a set criteria & can't be taken as the best in the survey is the best for you. Otherwise there would eventually only be ONE Insurer, as the others wouldn't get any business. Too many variables, age, location, vehicle, etc., etc.. Although,my premium was less than that shown in the survey (Comfort) I found (of those I tried ) similar % differentials, to the survey between the companies.
deerhound Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 Many thanks everyone for help, I called Frank Pickles this morning who returned my call, spoke to a very helpfull Gentleman who took details with no drama/stories of riots etc and was able to offer me fully comp insurance at slightly lower than last years premium. The existing company had increased policy by almost £50, so very pleased with this. :D

Might try them when mine is due, Safeguard is starting to creep up to much for my liking although the service has always been excellent with them.
mendipman Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 (^) Frank Pickles has an upper age limit of 74,check the policy !!!!!!!! (^)
johnnerontheroad Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I would have a good look at the european cover it looks like it is only third party and windscreen cover of only £500 not a lot. http://www.frankpickles.co.uk/Document-Library/KEYFACTS-Motorhome.pdf Dave
