Just pre-ordered my copy and yes it's confirmed 12, 14 & 16 Euros next year. Not unexpected we were warned that it was likely by a site earlier this year.

Terry - Thanks for info, having spent 30 Euro on a nights pitch on a site that did not take Acsi, still think it's well worth it even though we would prefer the old rate... Camping Cheques also a bargain in the Low Season, especially there Silver Card :-)

Got it sorted.  Dave, for some unknown reason had ordered two!!

I have just phoned Vicarious books who were most helpful and has changed the order to one and will refund us within 7 days.

I also nearly ordered two copies.

I think it was because I clicked on a button which said " update" -( although I've no idea what they meant by that ).

Archiesgrandad - 2011-10-16 7:54 PMFor reasons that may become clear when I summon up the courage to make an admission, can these books also be usen by caravanners?AGD

They most certainly can. In fact I learned about ACSI from friends who are caravanners. It is a system where you can get low prices on camp sites (except in high season). They are normal camp sites that take caravans, motorhomes and often, tents as well.

The sites vary from simple ones, which are the cheapest, to large fancy ones with pools etc.

I've only used my ACSI card for a one season but it was worth every penny.

Firstly, thankyou to francisgraham for the information, it is just what I needed to satisfy my enquiring mind.

With regard to the rest of you, I suspect you have been watching too much Jonathon Ross on the tele. Do you really think I would do anything of which I would be ashamed, can you really imagine anything that I might do that would make me ashamed, NAH!, I'm a Brummy.

Just did mine for E9.95 and they now throw in a free 'carnet' (another card) which you can present without having to have your passport - ie this is a pre-check and guarantee of your passport details.

Not quite the 'deal' it looks as it is only the first year that you get it for €9.95 then subsequent years may be at normal full price plus postage (Check out terms and conditions where they reserve the right to increase the price) and you have to agree to take for a minumum two years. On balance it may be a little cheaper than from Vicarious Books (though postage is higher as well) but of course if you want the ACSI Club ID (though bearing in mind that is not accepted at all camp sites only ACSI ones) then you may find it worthwhile.

Edited to clarify where information came from

I can make up my mind on the best deal after next year's book (2013).

For the few coppers difference it doesnt really matter where you get your ACSI card - the important thing is that you get one!

Don't we all like to chat! I pre-order (slight reduction) our ACSI book from Vicarious Books just to support such a pleasant and helpful business - especially if you get the order confused as I did on one occasion.

Happy planning everyone.

We've just had ours delivered, and good to see it split into 2 books now, luckily we can leave one book at home as thats all part of the world I doubt we will get to!

Incidently, its always worth asking if they take ACSI even if not advertised, we've managed to wangle discounts off sites which don't take it just by waving it and asking..... there is a crisis going on and every bit of dosh they can get is precious. Certainly here in Spain the sites are clamping down on permanent pitches (which most of the Spanish like) so they've lost out on the all year monies from them.

Hi Mick

I'm a bit confused here as the ACSI Club ID card that we got was free!
