sshortcircuit Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Off to Benidorm in November. A few years ago when I was there, there was a Jazz club at a boot sale near Camping Benisol every Sunday afternoon. Any of the "locals" no if it's still going on?
foxy Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Hi hamish, would think the boot sale u talk about is the el cisne market. Dont know if jazz club is still there . but if u pop down to the malibu bar at the rincon end, nr the vincents triangle pubs, they have a jazz night (think its wed) the guys there may give u more info.
sshortcircuit Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 Thanks for the info Foxy. Did a google and that is the same place. looks like they still have ex-pats entertaining so I will pop up. Last time was superb to have a San Miqel in the sunshine. Also been in the Malibu Bar, so that night time adventure. Regards, cant wait. (lol)
BGD Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 It's not actually a "Jazz Club".........it is just live music entertainment provided by the Spanish-run bar at the Sunday market at a place called "El Cisne" (the swan) on a site on the northern outskirts of Benidorm (on the old road leading towards Altea). Regular performers included John Smithson ("Jon the Fiddler") who also books the other acts on the bars behalf, and various other local musicians. I've played there a few times myself now and then over the past few years. It's always a good, laid back atmosphere, and totally Brit orientated.
sshortcircuit Posted October 22, 2011 Author Posted October 22, 2011 Thanks BGD. Can't wait and hope weather will be ok
