Stuart
We are thinking about a trip to Morrocco, either October/ November or December / January. We would welcome any advice and comment re weather, roads, sites, ferries from Spain routes, shopping facilities etc. Thanks in advance Stuart
Mel E
Do a search of the forum archive on 'Morocco'. Here are a few quick tips. Morocco is beautiful - especially in the south - and the people are charming and friendly.. But the few camp sites are hopelessly oversubscribed, most have quite rudimentary facilities, and you will find lots of wild camping where you pay a 'minder' to look after your vehicle. Morocco is also a Third World country with all this means - corruption is rife. Take lots of small pads of paper, pencils collected from friends, any used clothes you have space for. Make lasting friends with the local kids for whom writing paper and a pencil is a gift from Allah, and with camp site personnel with clothing, shoes, etc. Avoid Tangiers routes - the entry can be very threatening, and the exit likewise. Much better and safer via Ceuta. Don't be surprised if kids throw stones at your passing motorhome. Don't be surprised to be stopped and fined on the spot for speeding in open countryside (the local police are badly underpaid and this is an easy way of supplementing their income). But it is worth a visit - especially the south and the Atlas Mts. Have fun!

pedro
Hi We have spent the last 5 winters in Morocco from Nov. to Feb. Have done both crossings & find Tangers easiest & most direct route south. New motorway taking you all the way to Eljadida quick & cheap. First stop is free camp @ Larache one hours drive south. Water, toiletsetc. good meeting point. Camping all the way down the coastline although their facilities are at times primitive, but there are new luxury campsites opening - still very cheap anything from £4 to £6 per night (last year we were £65 per month & £90 per month in luxury ones. There is no so called wild camping now. Everyone must go into camping or controlled carparks. We find it a very friendly country & have made loads of friends. Food is cheap French supermarkets & eating out is cheap £3 upwards for a meal. Alcohol you take your own with you.You can buy but can be expensive. We are going back this Nov. again. Did you just stay for three months on your original visa or did you extend it? Don
