spike
On the worktop of our Hymer there are two 230v sockets and a 12v socket. The 12v socket is a much smaller diameter to what we are used to. We can only connect into the 12v socket in the cab. I'm confused as to why this socket is a different size to the standard plug that comes with such appliances. JohnP
This is the way Hymer do it. The plugs are available from Hymer UK or Brownhills.

Clive
Not just Hymer, Its the European standard 12 volt power outlet. You will find them in most European cars as well. But yes the Euro plug adaptor is the easiest way. C.

Brambles
These euro standard plugs/sockets are much more reliable and safer than the standard Cig lighter plug/sockets and have a lower voltage drop across the contacts so do not get nearly so warm when drawing a high current.
