nuevoboy
One of the other postings ( *-) ) got me thinking..... ...what happens to all the prototype or pre-production 'vans that the motorhoming media always seem to be issued with for reporting on in their magazines? Do they go back to the manufacturers to be tweaked once reported on, or are they simply shipped off to a dealer somewhere and sold on as a unique version of the final production model? postnote
That's a great question. Somehow I don't think they go back to be tweaked as most manufacturers think they have got what the public wants right first time. I would hazard a guess that they keep a prototype and maybe in the case of a pre-production one, keep it for a year then hawk it out through a dealer. Would like to know though. Mel B
I have certainly met some people who had the 'prototype' of a particular motorhome and it was interesting to see what had been changed when it went into full production ... don't ask me what it was though, I can recall it was a coachbuilt, but as it was quite a while ago I can't remember what! *-)
