Sparkle
With the crisis hitting hard in Spain we love to save money if possible by wild camping... and the only niggle I found was not being able to straighten my hair..... I don't mind air drying the bulk of it, but my fringe has a mind of its own and is far too wild! I have a 12v hair dryer (about the same power as blowing on sections of your hair!) so air drying is probably quicker. But on the straightener front I ordered these 12v ones - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Street-Wise12v-Car-Hair-straighteners-Travel-Camping-Caravan-Festival-ect-/150700642106?pt=UK_Health_Beauty_Hair_Care_Hair_Straighteners_PP&hash=item2316754f3a#ht_922wt_1037 Various companies on Ebay offer them.... and they're great! they do the job without the need for hook up! (They aren't as good as the hugely branded GHDs - but I'd recommend them if you can't go without!)
marydot
I have Babyliss gas cartridge powered ones, not a patch on GHD's but better than going 'au naturel'! Mary

Perhaps if you had a useful husband he could cobble a length of water pipe to the blown air heating system outlet, put a 90 degree bend on the end and say 'there you are my love a perfect hair dyer'. ? :D
Sparkle
What a fabulous idea Mr Batty......how did you come up with that one? Very off the cuff indeed. It would indeed take a very specially DIY minded husband to do something like that - someone who loved his wife very much indeed!

It would indeed take a very specially DIY minded husband to do something like that - someone who loved his wife very much indeed! And that sort of person would have to have a wife that loved him very much as well to reply ' thats lovley darling - how thoughtful' Then remove the pipework, get a proper hair dryer & straighteners while he was on his next DIY project still feeling very happy with himself. :D

Mr Mrs Batty
Is this one for the ladies ? I thought my new girlfriend might be ''the one''. But after looking through her knicker draw and finding a nurse's outfit, a french maid's outfit and a policewoman's uniform I've dumped her. She OBVIOUSLY cant hold down a job !!! :D

New readers should tread VERY carefully around this part of the thread. "Sparkle" has been very naughty in not replying immediately, saying who her husband is (although clearly Mel's been around long enough to know!). Come on Kathy - stop disowning the poor guy!!! AND ANYWAY ... who says this thread is "one for the ladies??"
