Dave225
To those of us who have been living each Saturday evening for the past several months hooked on the Killing and Killing II, and had the empty vacuum of the holiday period, hope has returned in the shape of Borgen. Now we can look forward to settling down to some decent drama at the weekend and skip the miriad dross that appears on the normal Channels. Those familiar with the Killing(s) will recognise both Police sidekicks in the new series, maybe there are only so many actors in Denmark but we both are sitting waiting for Ms Lund, complete with trademark sweater, to appear around a corner as the scenarios have similarities, although Borgen is more a political drama than criminal. Why the BBC or ITV cannot make similar dramas is a mystery although I am sure the Danish Police cringed at the mess Ms Lund and her operatives made of a murder case. More twists and red herrings than anything seen for a while, although my wife spotted the murderer by episode 8 of the Killing. I missed it totally. I read that Borgen and the Killing(s) are compulsive viewing for both our political Party leaders, and one can see why. Maybe they can earn a thing or two. And after Borgen has finished there will be Killing III to look forward to as Sarah Lund (Sofie Gråbøl) has confirmed filming. Maybe she will have washed the sweater and learned how to eat a meal from a plate instead of the saucepan by then, but no matter. It is good viewing and we are learning Danish. Tak dig.
