DAMAR
I want to buy a digital tyre inflatore for my motorhome which needs to go up to more than 75psi. Has anyone any recommendations please
Keithl
Hi David, There was a review of several compressors in MMM a few months ago, here's a Link to it. Alternatively try using the search facility above and search for "compressor" or "tyre inflater" as there have been several recent threads on the subject. Keith. pepe63xnotuse
We've used one of these for a while.. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Michelin-Hi-Power-Inflator-Detachable-Digital/dp/B000V5IG5U ..and although it's only supposed to reach 50psi..it does actual go up to 70psi..and accurately at that.. I do find the "screw on" type hose fitting very fiddly though and if you're not swift when taking it off, you just end up losing several psi!..also,it you've got wheel trims,it actually makes it difficult to screw onto the valves in the first place.. To be honest, for just routine checking and adjusting of the pressures,I found that our powered pump was a bit of a pain,as it took longer to "set-up",than it did to actually do any pumping! (..What with leads, which needed threading through various side windows in order to reach each wheel, and which end up getting tangled and covered in muck... *-) ) ...So I've since reverted to my orignal "manual" foot pump for routine checks... ;-) Having said that,if you definately need a 12v pump,I'd be looking at something far more "heavy duty" than ours and probably not something which just runs off a normal "cigar lighter" socket either.. Derek Uzzell
A ggod deal of forum discussion on this issue in the past. This previous thread should help and it contains links to even earlier stuff: http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=24716&posts=28 The Ring RAC-700 pump I've had for a while (and mentioned in the linked thread) now blows my Transit's dashboard-socket fuse. I don't where the fault lies and the problem MAY be my disreputable home-made extension cable (needed to reach the motohome's rear wheels) rather than the pump itself. As the pump has been made to work by crocodile-clip connecting it to the vehicle's battery, I haven't put much effort into fault finding. I knew I should have bought a Ring RAC-900 and now I probably will.

I had a similar problem with our Michelin pump Derek..like you,I suspectd it may've been down to my home made extension but even after trying decent 10amp extension,it still blew the fuse.. ..but as our leisure battery,is at the rear,I ended up just fitting a 12v socket in the rear,so that I wouldn't need to use an extension....
