We are considering of visiting Reims on the way south in May.

Any information regading the city, and especially campsites near public transport into the city, or Aires-de camping cars nearby or safe parking within the city ?

There is an aire in Reims itself in the centre but it is not a very good one-when we passed weren't over impressed with it.

These are the co-ords if you want to look it up on Google earth:

N 49.24889°

E 4.02128°

Don't know if you've considered France Passion though as there are a few stops in that area that are better

Hi,

There is a free aire in parkland behind the Comedie theatre in Reims, it can be quite noisy as its next to the A4 but we have stayed overnight and the noise isn't too bad at night. There is barriered acces and you need to go into the main building at the entrance to get the access code or ring the number at the barrier. The borne is also free.

Even if you don't fancy staying the night it would make good daytime parking. Just a few minutes stroll from the centre.

We stopped there last August for a night to. Easy walk into town and convenient for returning in the evening to watch the Cathedral's light show. Well worth the vist and we felt that the traffic noise wasn't too noisy. Be careful when approaching as the entrance is imediately after the right turn and does not look like an aire from the road. well tucked behing the theatre and youth hostel.
