Arthur Brown
Why don't you ask Timberland? My observation on this forum is that they treat customers like real people and will almost certainly tell you. Yes, they will no doubt want to do it but the simple replacement of a camera does not warrant dealer participation I would have thought. Mel B
Are you sure it actually runs internally? I believe that some camera system cables actually run under the chassis ... :-S
flicka
Hi cerro If you can get at the Camera, would it be possible to disconnect it so the wiring protrudes & then attach the new wires to the existing. I think it would then be just a question of feeding the cables back to the interior space. But you may need to shorten the 3ft cable if there are any restrictions (after trying before shortening 8-) )
cerro
Hello Flicker Im afraid the wire is attached to the camera and is a sealed unit with the 3' of wire attached when you buy it. there is a hole drilled into the van and a grommet and the cable disapeares inside the roof for up to 3' where it connects to a 6 pin plug Regards cerro
AliB
Hi Cerro. Can you remove the camera from the rear of the van.? Remove the grommet and pull the cable out the hole until the connector is visible? It is very rare for a camera to have a 3 ft cable attached. They are usually more like about 3 inches. From your description you have found the 6 pin connector. If there is not sufficient slack on the cable to pull through as suggested above, try attaching a draw string to the cable of the old camera. Then pull the cable out of the rear of the van until you can grab the draw string. Attached the new camera cable and pull the draw string back from inside the van. Possibly even shortening the 3' of cable on the new camera.
