Guys bit of a cheek really I know.

So fresh back to M/homing . We like the campsites Aires the lot we don't have a prefrence for any however if we have been touring for a few days then we like to pop to a site pays ya money and get a good wash /shower . But I like the Aires I love the just move on if you dont like it bit, and also I am a right nosey cow :D Nothing I like better then sitting somewhere like Hornfluer spying out me window :-) I just love it especially when hes boring the arse off me and I am not the slightest interested in what he's doing on the computer with his porn (Bikes)in his case.

Anyway I cant post pics on here and no one to help me . I am not computer minded (only kids) boring I know.

I wonder one if you could all tell me where to get the camping books again for the Aires

Which is the best

what others would you not go without

Whats a must have

And is it still Vicarious books?.

Then lastly please can we make this an Aires thread ??? pretty please just love looking at pics and pretending like a silly school girl , indulge me please. post ya piccys or else

:D :D :D :D :DLastly can anyone say about Lake Garda ? I really fancy it whats there whats to see?. any good campsites Aires ?.

Here is a photo of a nice (free) Aire in France that we stayed on last November.

It is at La Motte Beauvron on the N20.

Any more from Forum members ? (this could be a valuable source of information for planning purposes).

Beautiful free anything there ? amotte-Beuvron is a commune in the Loir-et-Cher department of central France. The town is located in Sologne on the banks of the Beuvron river.

Lamotte-Beuvron is served by the A71 autoroute and the Route nationale 20. Each year, at the Federal Equestrian Park there's the Pony French Championship in July. Oh that will do me nicely haha

Yes quite agree come on lads a lasses lets get serious it all helps one another .

We were there for the Pony championships once in July and you can walk quite easilly from the Aire to where they are held: not bad for a free aire! (there is even a born and (one) toilet, plus shops within easy walking distance).

I started going through our blog and there are just too many to list and post. We have found some crackers over the last few years. Anyway I will try and post a few.

Bit of a pain posting pics on here. I will try and name them.

First one is in the Dordogne at Objat. It was a bit too organised and campsite like for me. Still it was €5 including hookup and plenty of space.

Next two are in Burgundy but I cant remember where! Both free though.

The next one is a brand new Aire at Fources in the Gers region. A stunning little village. The locals came out to see if we were ok and if we had any questions! Free as well.

The next one is The Aire at Saint Eulalie D'Olt in Aveyron. It looks a bit car parky but it was very pleasant with just us and a couple of vans there. The Mayor came out to meet us here. He is very proud of his Aire which strangly boasts more EHU points (16 amp) then there are places. Stunning village and suroundings. €8.

The next one in the open field is underneath Chateux Biron in the Dordogne. Stags were rutting all night here and very close!

The next one was some little village west of Limoges. It doesnt look much but I incuded it as we found a few round there with free hookup and free services.

Final one is the Aire at Gavarnie and the Pyrenees.

Michele,

Not just aires but camp sites too, maybe because I'm a bit careful most of these are free to access;-)

http://www.archiescampings.eu/eng1/ Camp site locations throughout Europe (POI'S)
http://www.campingcar-infos.com/Francais/accueil.php Aires for M/h's
http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30654 Aires for M/H's (POI'S)
http://www.i-campingcar.fr/accueil.htm Again Aires for M/H's bit with the addition of a searchable on line illustrated database and a version as a pdf to use off line.
The FFCC have a scheme for Camping cars offering 'Aire' facilities overnight on nearly 600 camp sites from E8 pn http://www.ffcc.fr/165/html/camping-cars/le-stop-accueil-camping-car.aspx again with a downloadable pdf brochure.

For wine and fresh produce lovers the France-Passion book of overnight stops for M/H's provide a vaste range of 'Free' off road stop-overs but sadly again only for fully self reliant M/H's.http://www.france-passion.com
Heres a link to the famous French municipal sites http://s2.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif
http://www.camping-municipal.org/

Also for ASCI Sites http://www.campingcard.co.uk
and Camping Cheques http://www.campingcheque.fr
both of which have a search able database of sites

School French should suffice for all these resources, Archies is in English, http://s2.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif

Talk about laugh I nearly wet myself reading Hank the Tanks adventures ..Johan!

Barry its great . Think I will give it to hubby to read later ,brilliant stuff.

:D :D

Anyway back to Arnie the campsite warden. He asks me why I’m limping. I consider for a minute some story about kicking to death the last campsite warden who was too over efficient and bossy but decide to try and explain Gout to him. Like me, he eventually wishes he hadn’t asked and after we circle back to the van after hiking the whole place he says. Park there! (30 yards from where we are stood. Hmm. As he wanders off I will him to say “Ill be back!”

Omg thats it I need a tenna lady rolf lmao

Come on guys isnt anyone going to tell me about lake Gaurda ?.

Garda ??? surely someone has been there .

Nope - Haven't been there! :D

I have been to Menaggio on Lake Como, luvverly little town, stunning scenery, totally crap campsite - "Camping Europa". Cold water, launching pad loos, but nice setting.

(I was there on a "Banger Rally" and we spent most of the evening & early morning in the microbrewery/bar in Menaggio, so in our eyes the site was wunderfulll!):D

Other than that I cannot either remember or comment!

No I havent been there either. Dont know how far you got through the blog but we did do Lugano, Maggiore, Orta and Como lakes last summer where we managed to get the van in the middle of the Presidential Convoy.

Lake Maggiore and Orta were our favourites. Two free sostas on Orta as well. Cannobio on Maggiore is stunning also.

Twice now we have avoided Garda and I am not sure why. I spoke to a lot of people who say its a little commercialised and often very busy but perhaps we will find out for ourselves this year.
