thermidorthelobster
I bought a Bluetooth audio device for my Swift Kon-Tiki so I can listen to music from my phone easily through the stereo aux input. It plugs into a 12v lighter socket, and works very well. However, the two lighter sockets in my cab are both switched with the ignition. This means when parked up I can't use the Bluetooth unless the ignition's on. Instead, I've plugged it into a socket in the body; however, the long run of cabling I need picks up interference and the audio quality suffers. Is there an easy way to convert one of the cab sockets to always-on, instead of switched? Obviously I could run a fused cable straight from the battery, but I'd rather hook into a nearby live directly to save unnecessary cabling if possible. If anybody has done this already I'd be interested to know if there's a simple solution.
thermidorthelobster
To answer my own question, in the end it was easier just to run another fused feed off the battery than to dismantle the dashboard to hijack the existing wiring. Job done.
