josie gibblebucket
Whenever I see the word gaslow, I always read it as Glasgow. Do you think this means I have dyslexia, or is it just that my brain is jumping to conclusions? Serious question :-|
donna miller
Tut Tut Josie, the spelling mafia will be on you soon, there are 2 Gs in Glasgow and only one in Gaslow :D Seriously though, No, there's nothing wrong with you, it's called word recognition, no doubt you've seen the emails and posts where the words are all spelt wrong and yet you can still make sense of it, the mind takes the first and last letters of a word and associates it with a word in its memory, a quick reference to the remaining letters is usually only necessary when more than one word is possible. As Gaslow is not really an everyday word in your vocabulary, your mind finds the nearest word and suggests that in a nano-second, it's only when you look again that you see it is different.
