Don Madge Posted June 1, 2006 Share Posted June 1, 2006 The St Gothard Tunnel in Switzerland has been closed due to a rock fall. It "Should" open again tomorrow Friday 2 June. For info on planned closures see http://www.gotthard-strassentunnel.ch/webseite_e/0e_frameseite.htm The planned closures should not effect many motorhomers as the tunnel closes at 20.00hrs. and opens at 0500hrs. It will remain closed until the end of the month at least. There is an outside chance that the road might have to be rerouted which could take months. If you were planning to use the A2 route through Switzerland this summer I would have an alternative route planned and allow extra time for your journey.
