Geezer Posted April 12, 2012 Share Posted April 12, 2012 Hello, I am about to take delivery of a new motorhome and have had difficulty trying to find sites from both the Caravan Club and Caravan & Camping Club....around the Northwest of England to take an 8.73m motorhome ..... Robinhood Posted April 12, 2012 Share Posted April 12, 2012 The CC normally can handle (at least a few units per site) up to 9m (though you should check the site details on the web for max length) but they recommend contacting the site if you have a large unit. Similarly, the C&CC can cope. For example, I know for a fact that the C&CC site at Delamere Forest reserve selected pitches where it is possible to site a large 'van, because there is no obstruction to any overhang at the back of the (hardstanding) pitch. (Their pitches are all the same area, but some of them are positioned to allow the overhang). In either case, it is worthwhile, as suggested, ringing the site(s) direct. If you are trying to book weekend pitches, however, you may well find that there is little availability due to pre-booking (though, from experience, because the CC don't take deposits, there are often spaces (cancellations) available to book up a few days in advance).
