fairweather camper
Hello, I would like a bit of advise please, my xxxxxxxxxx husband has just put a gallon of Diesel in our Petrol driven T Max Fuel Injected Super Scooter, he realised what he had done, so the bike has not been started, so all the diesel was just in the tank, we have siphoned it all out, you cannot hear any fuel in the tank when the Scooter is shook from side to side, my question is, if we fill it up with Petrol, will it be OK, any advise would be greatly appreciated. Dave Newell
Hello FC, if all the diesel has been removed and the engine not started then you should be ok to refill with petrol although it may just take a little while to start first time. flicka
Hi FC I guess you still had some Petrol in the Scooter ? If so the fuel line & carb would still be full, so as Dave suggests you should be OK. One method I used (many years ago) was to disconnect the fuel tank, lift it off the scooter & swill out with a small amount of petrol, then drain into a suitable container. The problem today is how to dispose of the contaminated petrol. :-(
