We exit UK next week 1st overnight at Arques then possibly head towards Koln / Koblenz then down the Mosel towards Trier through Luxemburg back into France . We have done the Luxenburg / Trier / Koblenz before , but not the France / Koln /Koblenz bit , are there any attractions places of interest we should look out for along the route we should not miss ?.

Many thanks for any feedback .

Aachen is a very interesting town. Bonn is attractive too. We haven't stopped there recently so I don't know about campsites or Stellplatze. If you are looking for nice countryside rather than places to visit, the Eiffel SW of Koln is pretty and if you don't mind going a bit further east the Sauerland/Rothaargebirge area is very good for walking. On the return journey you might think of going via the Ardennes in Belgium. Han is a good centre for touring. Good grottoes there if you are interested in that sort of thing. We are heading roughly in the same direction in June/July but a bit further south to Nancy, the Vosges and Colmar.

Hi Guys what book covers all these Stellaplaz ? thanks

You need the ReiseMobil International Bord Atlas Deutschland from Vicarious Books Michele its about £20 but well worth it, it is in German but with photo,s and symbols it is very easy to understand it also has GPS co-ords.

Got mine from Amazon lot cheaper.

Now parked up on Stellplatz at Wintrich north of Trier on Mosel Valley 8e p-night inc wi-fi / elect just filled up leaving Luxembourg diesel 1.27e about £1.05 ltr . In France filled up at Carrefour in Arques @ 1.40e ltr been sunny most of the day but just come on to rain there has been a lot of rain in europe during the last 3 weeks I have been told. Its supprising how busy the stellplatz are mostly Germans and Dutch .

We stayed there for 3 nights last May, an exellent Stellplatz, more like a campsite, we cycled into Piesport one day from there, and another day into Bernkastel, hope you've got your bikes with you as it is great cycling along there.

Another stellplatz we stayed at last year was in Neef, again a really nice one, with nice views of the river.

Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Ina.
