French Speed / Safety Camera's

Having just run the length of France to around St Tropez and back to Calais using non Paege roads I was amazed to see the massive increase of roadside camera's , as you say leave a 90kph section onto a 70kph section there is often one of those speed indicator boards giving your current speed then about 150mtrs past the warning indicator board there will be a speed camera waiting to flash you . Also this is the 1st time I have seen a lot of camera's that have been rattle canned to mask out the lenses , so not very popular with the locals it appears.

Yes, we'vejust taken almost 2 weeks to get from Dunkirk to Aix en Provence, via various routes, and noticed thanks to TT several 'Danger Zones'.....where there MAY be Speed cameras. Equally, despite the previous French Presidents deicsion to remove all warning signs along the weay, there are many still up, and often the cameras are severak km away! Soesnt usually trouble us, though haev tko be very carefulin50km zones, and seem to have come across a lot more 30km zones with serious humps....think 5-10km is more like on these!!!
