A W
I had a towbar fitted which I haven't used for 2 years. It became rusty and spoiled the look of the van so it was removed. What amazed me is the weight of these things.I could just about lift it and it has given me cause for concern that I have been lugging it around without it serving any purpose. If you've got a redundant towbar I suggest you consider its removal. Regards to all
Dave Newell
Hi AW, I have to ask why you had it fitted in the first place if you didn't need it? D.
A W
It was fitted because I used to tow a car on an A frame.I stopped doing that because of the attention paid to us by the European Police
enodreven
Hi, AW were you stopped by the police for towing on an "A" frame ?? as you hear a lot of talk about it being ilegal but i haven't heard of anyone being stopped or more importantly being fined ?? be interested in your experiances
A W
No I have never been stopped whilst actually driving. For me the problem was at motorway service areas where the Police would quiz us about the legality of towing this way.To be fair our supplier did provide us with various translations for that situation but I prefer not to be in that situation in the first place. They never fined us and we have never been stopped on minor roads.
