Hi motorhomers,

I am at Les Sables D`Olonne and want to move down to Bordeaux stopping at Camping card sites or aires on the way going via La Rochelle, Royan then Bordeaux.

we would like to stop near towns or beaches or transport to these places

I have seen one site "camping Le Royan" ( do you know it) but need one at La Rochelle and Bordeaux there is no rush to get there so if you can suggest anywhere better your help will be much appreciated.

If you know the Lat/Longtitude that would be great.

I have not been further than La Rochelle so I do not want to wast time stopping on duff sites.

Thanks: Mike

One of my joys in camping in France is that if I dislike a camp-site, there's always another better? one nearby. That being said, without an exhaustive list of your likes and dislikes its almost impossible to recommend a site reliably :-)

ASCI run an english website at WWW.Campingcard.co.uk and if you prefer a municipal and beat the €16 barrier there's a vast range on the municipal site here

If you don't mind laying out a few Euros you will be missing the fine range of France Passion basic stop overs and all they cost is a bottle of wine a night Think of all that Pineau, Cognac, OHHHH I'm almost weak kneed.

And if its Aires you are looking for for a night or so try searching I-Camping Car

Bon Vacances

left your site last week and went to chatelaillon-plage (1220 in the acsi book).

next to a beach, you can walk out when the tide goes out and collect oysters and mussels, a bus a few minutes walk from the site takes you to la rochelle for 1 euro 20. there are 3 aires in the town, one near the campsite at the sailing school, one at the railway station and one at the tourist info office. alternatively there is an aire in la rochelle at les minimes (not been there for a while though).
