Stellplatz on Lower Rhine

We are now in Central Germany, at a very nice Stellplatz on the river Wesser just South of Hannover at Holzminden. The weather is not good-very similar to Wales this week-loads of Rain-and the forecast is much the same for the next week. So instead of heading for the Harz region next week-we are heading South towards the French border. Can anybody recommend nice stellplatz on the Rhine. We will be heading South from Karlshrue towards Freiburg -Basel area, so any nice places to stop on the Rhine will be much appreciated. We have done the Rhine around Rudesheim etc. and the Mossel-both very nice-if the weather is kind. Having been confined to the Van for most of the week-it is time to head South.Thanks.

Hi we have just left Germany and at the moment are at Mouzon in France heading back to Calais, as you say the weather has been very changeable its been very unsettled for the last couple of weeks.

 

The only stop we had on the Rhine was at Baccarach, but it is only a Stal with elect; and water, I much prefer the Mossel. A very nice stop instead of Trier is at Saaburgh it is a lovely town just a short walk from the stal which is more like a campsite with your own area so you have plenty of space for just over 8euro.

We've stayed at a stellplatz at Sinzig-Bad Bodendorf just south of Bonn. There are two to choose from, one with services, one without, but they're only a hundred metres or so apart.

 

Not actually on the banks of the Rhine but close - we found some on the river are very noisy with trains passing.

From memory parking is 5 Euro/night but this includes 2 showers in the morning at the open air pool.
