Can anyone give me the legal situation regarding freshwater fishing in France? I don’t want game fishing – course will do fine. For example do I need the equivalent of a Rod License as in the UK? So long as there are no ‘No Fishing’ or ‘Private Fishing’ etc. signs can I fish French rivers and lakes with impunity? Cattwg :-D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

vindiboy Posted July 17, 2012 Share Posted July 17, 2012 We were Wilding on the Canal du Midi a while ago and saw several people fishing, a man in uniform appeared later and was checking that the Fishermen had bits of paper, licences I presume.
