Mrs T
Mr T is past his best and is looking for a softer ride. His VW T5 hurts his joints. He wants the height for easy access (the T5 was perfect). He's looked at VW - Toyota - Mercedes so far (ALL TYPES) and is not at all impressed with all the clutter in them. All he needs is something that has space and is a better ride. Cost is not important its ease of entry/exit and the ride that is important. The Galaxy 1. What are they like. 2. Is there an automatic. 3 How do they ride. 4. Any other suggestions please regarding makes? Mrs T
flicka
Not sure if you are looking at new or used. The VW Sharan, (no longer listed new) & Seat Alambra were built in the same factory as the Ford Galaxy, just different , engines & spec levels. The Seat badge was always the cheaper option. Ford also have the S-Max, based on the Focus floorplan http://www.ford.co.uk/Cars/S-MAX Not as roomy as the Galaxy, but may be worth looking at. Kia do an Autobox on their Sorrento. Other "people carriers" are available from Mitsubishi & Hyundai
George Collings
If ride is the main consideration take a look at the post 2008 Land Rover Freelander. A relative has one and speaks highly of its ability to smother speed humps.
Mrs T
Thanks George, Maybe its the Freelander that will suit Mr T (always in his workshop and always fussy) he says he will go look next week. Mrs T
George Collings
The problem for commercial vehicle and people carrier designers is dealing with the wide variation in weght carried. It usually results in a hardish ride when lightly laden.
