mthomson
My year 2000 Timberland Freedom on a LWB 2.8 Fiat Ducato has recently dropped a wire down from under the dashboard trim, just above the accelerator. The wire has a little green light on the end of it which goes on when the ignition is on. I had presumed that it had come loose from somewhere behind the speedometer cluster and might be a warning light of some sort, but he commercial vehicle garage I've been using recently (HTC, Theale, nr Reading) have no idea what it is or what it is for. Has anyone any suggestions?
tonyishuk
Reverse engineering thinking. When you switch on the ignition, are there any lights warning indicator lights off that should be on ? Rgds
Dave Newell
Its the light switch illumination bulb and yes they do fall out quite often. D.
mthomson
Many thanks, Dave. I'm astonished that HTC didn't know. Now I just have to see whether I can get it back in place. Cheers, Mike
Dave Newell
You should be able to pop the light switch panel out of the dash to enable better access to the light fitting position. Alternatively remove the lower panel to gain access. D.
