tonyfletcher
Hi everyone, could be a silly question, but, what operates the lights on the instrument panel (eg 2 green lights = nearly full time to empty!!) Obviously I understand the level of waste part, but in the unit there is a float but no wires? Any ideas? Cheers Tony
Derek Uzzell
It's done magnetically.
Derek Uzzell
For a less succinct description ;-) there's an explanation from Thetford in Bailey Caravans's 16 April 2010 - 09:51 AM posting in this Caravan Talk forum thread http://www.caravantalk.co.uk/community/topic/35634-thetford-c250/ I believe the original C-250 model (like its C-200 predecessor) had just a single red LED on its control-panel to indicate that the toilet-cassette was approaching full. Later C-250 toilets have a "multi-level indicator waste holding tank" and it seems from your "2 green lights" comment that this is what you have. They all work in a similar way though, with a moving magnet-carrying float inside the cassette and a sensor within the cassette-locker that 'reads' the position of the float's magnet and triggers the contents-level lights on the control-panel as appropriate.
