well.....with my new touch there is no user 3G access, the only thing its good for is ordering stuff from amazon *-) apparently some have been abusing the "fair use" free 3G, They buy the kindles, dont register and hammer the 3G. This the apparent justification for removing it...So it was you was it! :-S

I got the same message on my kindle a few weeks ago while in France and felt really lost without it cos I spend quite a bit of dosh every month on kindle and amazon. My response was not to buy from them and only download free stuff and their free trial newspaper offers. And by the way the newspapers are missing sections so I just use them for a couple of weeks then cancel the sub. I can understand them cutting people off if they don't buy owt, but not if you pay for stuff on a regular basis. Anyway am gonna get in touch with them and say their months ban equals me not buying off them for 6 months and see what they say.

I had the same for the last 2 months while in France but the access became available once back in the UK so I think it only applies when you are roaming :-)

Right >:-) So now I know who to blame for me not being able to access the internet from my 3gb Kindle touch!! I could have saved myself a lot of phaffing about if you had put this on sooner. !!!!! (lol)

Dunno about the touch Maggy, but our friends have them and they can't get 3g either, I think its only the 3g with the keyboard that has the 3g access ;-)....................I could be wrong.........I often am :D

Thanks for the link Dave ;-)................but it means I have to get off my backside and walk to where the nearest hotspot is :-S...................part of my enjoyment of surfing is doing it in my own space........which I suppose is a bit strange as the results are then sent out to the ether..............plus the fact I have a flagon of cheap wine to enhance my eloquence :D
