bodach Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Hi. I will soon have to go to Garnavel General Hospital for an outpatient appointment. I will be coming from Oban and have to use a coachbuilt motorhome 5.6 metres length as transport. Parking at the hospital from previous experience is not an option with a m/home. Has anyone used the parking at the Pond Hotel? Is there room for a larger vehicle there? I have no objection to paying. Any other ideas welcome.
Brambles Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Hi, You could always phone the hospital and adsk them wjere you can park your M/home as they may let you use the service parking area. 0141 211 2721. Pond Hotel certaily looks like it should have suitable bays and of course there is the residential areas nearby such as Whittingehame Drive. If planning on Pond Hotel you could always phone them and check. Both the Hospital and Hotel must both have parking for minibuses so I would phone and enquire. This reminds me of when I visted the Audi Museum, did not fit in carpark, and they sent me to bus parking miles away and aranged a taxi to collect us and deliver us back again, they paid the taxi which came to more than twice the museum entrance fee. Sorry! I digress and is not helping you with parking at hospital.
bodach Posted September 25, 2012 Author Posted September 25, 2012 Thanks for that. The only large parking bays I have seen at Gartnavel are for ambulances. Most parking spaces apart from the disabled ones are designed for very small cars. Never been to the Pond Hotel so have no idea what parking is available there. Will try them by phone anyway. Residential areas I tend to avoid as this causes offence to local residents and there can be problems with resident only parking.Although I was a student in Glasgow Uni. way back in the dark ages I nowadays do no know the area too well. I may park as far out as Westerton and take the train. Could be easier. Thanks again.
