Is my engine Euro 4 or 5

Hi Ted

If you've received your new Red V5C (log book to us oldies), it says what Euro rating your engine has, just after the maker's name.

If not, you can either wait for it to arrive, or go to Germany where any major garage will tell you for €5, and give you a little sticker to prove it!

How can you tell the difference between the two engines?

Does your van have two engines then!!

For anyone who might know it might help if they knew what van it is, what engine size and output and the build date of the base vehicle - otherwise anyone's guess is as good as yours - or how long is a piece of string?

What does the V5 say?

A dealer should tell you if you quote them the engine and/or chassis number?

the dash board is a lot different for a start, take a pic and post or look on net...

......though I believe someone recently posted on here that they had the new dashboard but the Euro4 engine, as a run-out build - so maybe not a definitive indicator.

......as a past-owner of the pre-facelift previous Ducato equipped with the post-facelift gearbox as an end-of-line build, I know such "chimarae" do exist.

Edit:

Euro4 with Euro5 dash, see:

Ask Fiat UK, they will tell you from the chassis number.

Except when it's a Peugeot - see his other equally cryptic post.. :-D

Ah well, I had remembered he had got an X250, which for me is good going
