ROSNAY campsite - winter closure

The municipal campsite at Rosnay in Indre (France) has historically been one of the few campsites in that area open all year round, and it's shown as such in the Caravan Club's 2012/2013 "Caravan Europe - Guide to Sites and Touring in France" publication.

Due to lack of off-season visitors the local authorities have decided to close the site from mid-November to mid-February. This year the site will close on 15 November 2012. In 2013 the campsite will be open from 16 February through 14 November.

There's a an MHF review here

that mentions the closure.

The MHF reviewer comments "I suspect however that the site will still be accessible for M/Hs even though officially closed". However (as will be evident from the MHF GOOGLE Street View) there's a barrier at the entrance to the campsite that one might logically expect to be employed to prevent vehicular access during the 3-months closure. The barrier would not inhibit access to the visitors' car-parking area but, as there won't be any water or 230V sevices available when the site is shut, it's questionable why anyone would deliberately choose to stay there.
