Lidl Hob

Lidl have an induction hob for sale at £29.99. May be useful, may not but would save gas if you don't have an elec hotplate in the van. :-D

trouble is, i believe you need induction pans for these. for less you can get a hotplate (or double) and use any old pans. mine are any old (very old!) pans. 8-)

Yes you need to solid metal bottomed ones and/or as stainless steel, not aluminium so don't forget to include the cost of the new pans that you'd need to buy too!!! :D

Re ;- replacement pans. Check your old pans with a magnet. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of them, they will work with induction hobs .

We bought one of these 2 years ago and some of my pans are suitable. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan or dish then it is suitable. We managed to buy a medium sized pan and steamer last year in Portugal with 50% off, they were very cheap. Someone on the site we stayed on was selling their Induction Hob we we bought that as well just looking for a suitable kettle now. My gas hob kettle is on its way out.

We have one of these hobs, £29.99 with a five year guarantee!! Got to be a bargain. You do not have to cook on 2000W if you are worried about tripping the electrics. B-)
