BGD
There's now a new(ish) motorhome stopover a couple of kms outside of Cartagena, Spain. We've not tried it, but it might be useful for people travelling through the area.......... http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?client=tmpg&depth=1&hl=en&langpair=es%7Cen&rurl=translate.google.com&twu=1&u=http://www.areaautocaravanas.com/&usg=ALkJrhhdB8M9gv_xA2IMzsFLESfobFNCng

BGD
vindiboy - 2012-11-29 4:08 PM thanks for that BGD, we are off to Spain shortly and wil try to find that one, I have tried the co ordinates in Google Maps but no luck, Google does not recognise them,do you have any other info on where it is please. They quote satnav co-ordinates and address on their website......I gave the link above. As I said, I've not been there, as we almost always wildcamp rather than use aires; I just picked up their details from a Spanish Motorhome forum and thought they might be useful for UK people. From their website: COORDINATES GOOGLE: N 37 ° 39 '13 " W 1 ° 00 '12 " GPS COORDINATES: N 37 ° 39 '22'' W 1 ° 00 '22'' TOMTOM COORDINATES: N 37 ° 39. 22 ' W 1 ° 00. 22 ' There's also a Google map on their site ( the Contacts page), showing exactly where they are.......just North of Dolores, which is itself maybe 4 kms north of Cartagena). DJP
Picked this post up yesterday whilst in Fortuna,as we were travelling down to La Manga today I decided we would call in and have a look round. The site is ok for a 1 or maybe 2 night stopover, but not much longer than that. OK the site looks secure with a small kiosk at the gate with a reception/security person inside. The site resembles a gravel car park with "plastic garages" around serving as was rooms etc. It was a fair distance from the town and the surrounding area was a bit "grim" as stated elsewhere. It is cheap enough and clean enough and does what it says "Stopover" There was one Spanish van on site when we called and that could belong to the site member as it was unoccupied or the owners had ventured out. The pictures on their website are a true representation of the site. We chose to carry on to La Manga rather than stay on the Stopover for a night.
