Burstner620
Does anyone know of a supplier of these for a Renault Master (2005) based motorhome ? I've checked three websites but none had an overlay for the Renault. If all else fails, I'll do it the hard way again (model railway pinstripe transfer and little number stickers) but I'd prefer the "real deal" ! Brian Kirby
Don't just rely on the websites. Ours (Fiat) wasn't listed by the supplier on their website, but when I phoned they were redaily enough available.

Ian0354
Hi Burstner620, Could you please let us know the web address for the company where you were successful getting your overlay as I as sure others would find this knowledge useful. Burstner620
Ian03/54 - 2006-07-17 10:30 PM Hi Burstner620, Could you please let us know the web address for the company where you were successful in getting your overlay
Surely you meant, if you are successful . . ." ??? No luck, looks like I'll end up marking it myself as I had to do with my last one. To be legal, all you require are 20 mph increments, starting either at Zero or Ten and the latter is obviously preferable with regard to UK speed limits. For anyone in a similar situation, the following will save you working out the "exchange rate" ! MPH KPH 10 16 30 48 50 80 70 113 90
Brian Kirby
I assume you've tried Superdials, AKA Lockswood International?Have you tried contacting Mel Eastburn, whose new van conversion is on a Renault Master? Recent MMM article on the conversion. I think he got a lhd renault through Renault UK but, presumably, something must have been done with his speedo. Mel E
Brian, It was changed by Renault as part of the deal - £500 extra for new instrument binnacle, headlights, and removing cab bulkhead and retrimming around it, which was superbly done. (You cannot have aircon and no bulkhead on the same order - the computer won't allow it!!)). To be legal, your overlay must be visible in daylight AND after dark. It's the latter bit that overlays have problems with.

I ended up removing the speedo and marking it myself. Can't find the colour of numerals that I wanted but I'll look around for different ones and re-do it later but at least it's legal for the time being.. Next stop Dusseldorf !!!
You may not be quite legal. To be totally legal the numbers should be visible at night, so the stick on type may not comply. Nevertheless, what I think you need is Letraset transfer lettering, normally obtainable from graphics and art shops. It is available in a huge range of type faces, sizes and colours, but only the larger, more specialist, shops will stock anything more than a very basic selection. Have a nose around any town/city with a half decent art college, especially one that runs a well reputed Graphic Design course. Letraset is a great student life saver!
