Domino
We're going to Sicily in May and wonder if anyone knows 1) if all the ferries are roll on/roll off? 2) is there the facility to plug into electric (as on some italy/greek routes)? any other suggestions/advice also appreciated eg companies to use. Thank you in advance

Domino
Thanks Alan, and I will let you know if I find anything further. Before I posted I'd looked at www.ferries.co.uk but it was too early for fares.
Hughmer
We shipped out of this port to Sardinia, and my recollection is that it's a bit grim. As in many ports that connect to North Afica, you'll be startled by the fact that many vehicles are stuffed with goods and the drivers sleep outside, - on the cement, - close to puddles of oil and other unspeakable substances. There seemed to be a lot of dodgy geezers lurking about. It made us a little uneasy even leaving the truck to get tickets. We had to overnight there before embarkation and we decided we'd rather have the security of a compound. It cost us €20 and we were locked in behind a barbed wire fence till 0600. That said, - we were unscathed.
