Evening all,having problems with fridge on 240 as well as 12 v. Should it prove terminal where is the best place to get a replacement. A quick look on the net shows a price of around 1200 ish.

It's a thetford. N 145

If the fridge works OK on gas then you have no reason to replace the fridge as the problem will be with electrical supplies or the electronic SES controller. Get a local motorhome service outlet to diagnose the fault in detail for you and order the required bit. Probably a Printed Circuit board and oodles less expensive than a new fridge.

Thanks for reply Clive but its a 10 year old thetford which they don't make anymore, tried to get spares before, but will do as you say first. Thanks again Barrie

The 240 V supply may well be controlled by 12V electronics and as it does not work on 12V it might well be just a 12V supply or earthing problem. Unless you feel competent to check both high and low voltages leave it to a professional.

The 12 v has not worked for some time. The 240 has tripped the mains connection as soon as I switch on, the underfloor heating had been on 240 for 3 days with no problem on 1kw. So thinking I might have overloaded I switched the underfloor off, still it tripped. Now the strange thing moved it to another socket switched everything possible on and then the 240 fridge no problem at all. So the in garage socket will run underfloor at 2 kw , but not the fridge on 240 by itself. STRANGE. Thanks again. Barrie
