Campsite Rouen

Does anyone know if the Rouen site refered to in CC Europe 1 site book, "Camping L'Aubette" in St Leger-du-Bourg-Denis, is in fact open all year? Can't get hold of them at the moment.

It appears that the other "open all year sites" listed for nearby Pont de L'arche are in fact closed.

Many thanks

There doesn't seem to be anything on-line to suggest that "Camping l'Aubette" might be closed but, of course, that doesn't mean a thing where French campsite opening is concerned!

If you can't contact the campsite by phone, your best bet for information is probably the Saint-Leger mairie.

Hi

We stayed at st leger 3 years ago in January and it was open all year then. It was part of a small holding and we had to pay our fee in the farm kitchen so I would think it would still be open. I remember describing it at the time as a caravan graveyard- to caravans what the aircraft graveyard was in Con Air!

Thanks for that, just wish I knew what Con Air is! I know what Air Con is.

The film with nicholas Cage!- Put the bunny back in the box!

I'm still none the wiser???

I've not watched the "Con Air" film, but my understanding is that it contains scenes that include an aircraft 'boneyard' (ie. an aircraft scrap-yard) in the desert. See the "Aircraft used in the film" section on the following link:

http://www.answers.com/topic/con-air

(From wikipedia) "Along with using several highly-detailed models at 1/15th scale, and a multitude of military and private aircraft assembled for the desert boneyard scene, the following aircraft were prominently featured in Con Air...."

The "bunny" reference is a quote from the same film. See:

(Are you are now any the wiser about Camping L'Aubette being open currently?)

I'm think the site may well be open, based on the general info so far. I've e-mailed the Mairie, but so far no reply.

Sounds like a film I've done well to miss!!

drove around rouen a couple of years ago looking for a site saw the camping sign ended up in a oblong patch of ground full of derilect caravans with a shack at the far end as an office,a bit scary! moved on , so dont waste too much time in this big town, better a supermkt park. :-D

By now, you may well have had a reply from the Mairie at St Leger-du-Bourg-Denis regarding Camping de l'Aubette but, if not, I have.

I asked if the campsite was currently closed and was told that it was not and that it was open all year.
