Peter Pan
All this rain has proved too much for my 6 year old Hobby. Water is getting into the roof and into one of the side panels. Can anyone recommmend a competent repair company, preferably in the south of England? :-(
Guest pelmetman
Blimey...........I thought German vans were bomb proof 8-) I should imagine the most likely culprit will be a seal gone on a skylight, so any motorhome/caravan workshop should be able to sort it........and there's plenty to chose from down yourway ;-)
Guest JudgeMental
I used these guys a few years ago, seemed pretty professional to me..and very busy which always a good sign I would think... http://www.motorhome.co.uk/
Guest JudgeMental
If rain sitting on roof put van on ramps
Peter Pan
Thanks for that suggestion Judgemental. I parked it on the ramps as soon as I found out about the problem. The water now drains off the rear. Previously water would stay on the roof in one front corner. Wish I had always parked it on ramps. I have found a couple of companies in Wiltshire who 'specialise' in this type of work. I will get estimates from them and then decide what to do. Rayjsj
Isn't your Hobby still under warranty ? water ingress warranties usually last longer than 6 years. ? If not I would go back to the dealer anyway, 6 years is not very long, To see if Hobby will contribute to the repair (which shouldn't have happened as early as this) Ray

They just did almost the whole back end of our MH and did a really good job.
Peter Pan
Thank you for the suggestions. However today I took the Hobby to a company who specialise in body repairs. They carried out a damp test and reported there is no problem! What a relief. :-D It just shows that some dealers do not have the experience to interpret the damp test results correctly. Thank goodness I got a second opinion.
