Ferry to Morocco

We are off in a couple of weeks to Southern Spain/Portugal but if the weather is not to good we may consider Morocco. We visited Morocco two years ago but as part of a organised tour group (Blue Camel who were very good) Does any one know if it is best to pre-book the ferry or are prices on the day quite reasonable, I remember there seemed to be a few agencies offering ticket sales does anyone have any experiences of these? We crossed to Cueta last time but there is a ferry crossing to Tangier Port which seems to be a 100 Euro cheaper, does any one have experience of this crossing?

I would highly recommend crossing to the new port Tangier Med, which removes all of the "hustle and bustle" of the Tangier or Ceuta crossings. You disembark into a clear, modern and secure port with cash machines and are just minutes away from the coastal toll road - should that be your chosen route.

The motorhomers ticket agent of choice 'Carlos', who now has an office at Lidl Algeciras, can provide an outward crossing with an open return for 200 Euro. Most motorhomers camp in Lidl overnight before getting the ferry the next day. No need to book in advance.

The above information is based on feedback we have received - while we purchased tickets from Carlos for our crossing to Ceuta. The crossing here had all the theatrics you would expect from such a crossing and when we return later this year we will be using Tangier Med based on all the excellent reports we have received since.
