Gov't gay marriage plans

Qur'an (7:81) - "Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you?" This verse is part of the previous text and it establishes that homosexuality as different from (and much worse than) adultery or other sexual sin. According to the Arabic grammar, homosexuality is called the worst sin, while references elsewhere describe other forms of non-marital sex as being "among great sins."

So do you see the contradiction in your previous argument about the "religion of peace" that you sought so hard to defend along with it's folowers, no of course you don't. Anyway I'm off to a good woman with a nice dinner awaiting and who knows what else. >:-)

Well John, you seem to know all the answers, so no point carrying on, I don't get involved in arguments which this seems to be leading to.

Ever tried Government for a living?

Just one last point, mother had to be two persons, loving when needed, harsh when necessary. She wasn't a bad footballer too.

Sorry guys, he just started quoting from the Bible to back up his criticism of me ,and from a defender of the Islamic faith, and an atheist according to him, I thought that was a bit rich so I took the bait again. Perhaps he suffers from a multi personality disorder.

100 lines again for me again :D

Don't respond to provocation !

Just ignore him and he will go away. Unfortunately he is one of those guys that seems to have an opinion on everything. As he seems to pop up on any thread and always knows it all. But especially if you are a respondant, then he is in his element as a wind up merchant. Just carry on as though he's not there and ignore his provocative postings. It'll keep your blood pressure down. :D

No, don't know all the answers. If you carefully read all my posts I am criticising some others for pretending that they do. Live and let live is my motto - if you don't understand something that is no reason for telling others how to live their lives.

Funny, isn't it, that by telling people that none of us knows the answer, you can be branded by a handful of people as a know-it-all? There must be quite a few insecure people on this forum.

For me it is simple: all the religious texts (and, as I said earlier, they are from the same source in the western world) are contradictory. You can find passages in all of them to support anything you want. It is all basically fairy-tale to me.

However, when it comes to judging individual people I accept that some of them (many of them) profess to follow the "word". Those (the majority) who follow the merciful and forgiving stuff I have no problem with (whether they are Jew, Christian or Muslim). Those that pick out the vindictive stuff (again, be they Jew, Christian or Muslim) I have no time for. BUT I do not blame the former for the actions of the latter (which is where we have our biggest difference).

Simple, really - why do you have such a problem with it?

what is cameron poncing around about gays when their are so many important matters to sort out.

Could be because he doesn't want us asking too many questions about what happened to the management team who were running the Staffordshire hospital ?

My thoughts exactly - bad news burying is an art-form by politicians and their spin merchants.

That is very true but I can't help feeling that if he wanted to bury bad news he'd choose something that wasn't going to split his party down the middle! I've not much time for Cameron and his cronies but I have a sneaking feeling he's actually being principled on this one (a rare thing to say about our political leaders, I know, but there you go).

It is not to everyone’s taste - but I find it refreshingly funny in an old fashioned sort of way - it can also be very crude. But if you want a taster of one of the funniest bits:-

All I know is my 46 year marriage now feels devalued.

I have never voted Tory in my life but was considering it , due to the stance on the EU, but I am now back into the origional dilema as I cannot support Cameron now, but neither can I support the other two main monkeys!

Guess it's UKIP again!
