Wooie
Can someone please tell me how many Watts my Laptop AC/DC Mains Charger uses ? The specs on the charger are :- Input................ 100-240V - 1.5A ................. 50 - 60Hz Output............. 15.0.V ------ 6.0A I was under the impression that it is 90W, is that correct ? Regards. Graham.
Guest Peter James
Watts = Volts x Amps, so 90watts is the maximum output of the charger. But that tells you nothing about what is being consumed. Only way to check it is with a meter measuring the current going in - preferably an ammeter on the battery so you include the losses in the inverter. Even then it will depend on how much the laptop is consuming, which will depend on what the laptop is doing.
