Dave225
I am sure there will be however I do hope it does not develope into a form of circus. There are no living survivors left as far as I am aware so everything will be based on hindsight and hearsay. That may be accurate enough but these sorts of things to my mind often allow people who have no connection whatsoever to blabber and politicians are usually at the front of my list. It was the War to end all wars but did absolutely nothing of the sort so to my mind it should not be remembered with any form of glorification. No lessons were learned, except how to kill more effectively and as for the 'land for Heroes' to return to I suspect the vast majority from all sides laughed, or wept at that one. I know my grandparents did. Even survivors of WW2 are now getting thin on the ground so although I respect everything they all did, my opinion is that time has moved on and we should just acknowledge the date, but nothing more. antony1969
Anyone who has visited the war graves and seen the rows and rows of poor young lads that paid the ultimate price for our freedom would want to remember and be very thankful that they were brave enough to do that all those years ago .
