Retread24800
Not exactly free, you are expected to buy some of the vignerons/ farmers produce, that being said if a visit to a vinyard and a tasting are part of your holiday expectations then it is good value, even if the wine isn't, but don't expect full 'site' facilities. And at long last the 2013 book will provide GPS coordinates.
snowie
Hi Elizabeth; we think it's a good scheme; and contrary to some peoples view, it is not expected that you will buy some produce, so don't feel under pressure. We plan our FP stops because we want to have an opportunity to buy some produce, rather than buying everything at supermarkets; they don't offer free overnight parking! I don't consider the subscription of £25? to be a "cost" as such, it's no different from paying to join the CC or C&CC, it's access to opportunities. We've had some good FPs, some moderate ones, and we've moved on and not stayed a few times. It's not 100% reliable, but we think it's worth the effort. alan k
Hi, We've joined each year we've holidayed in France. Last June we stayed on 3 cider farms, a beef farm, and an ice cream farm (not far from the tunnel) as well as a couple of vinyards. They were all quiet locations, most in the middle of the countryside. Yes we do often buy but we've never felt pressured. After all a bottle of cider, or wine, or a bit of meat for the bbq is all part of the holiday experience. The ice cream is wonderful and we rather over bought after the first sample!! We even have our favourite champagne producer who has space for 5 vans. We've been back several times to pick up supplies for special occasions. So we do like the concept. However there have been sites we didn't like the look of eg scruffy, poorly maintained etc so like with aires/campsites we found somewhere else We have just ordered the books for this year cheers alan

malc d
Poppy - 2013-02-17 1:36 PM Anyone used it recently? Any thoughts? That's a bit of a personal question Poppy - asking if anyone has experienced French passion lately. I think you are referring to France Passion - something entirely different. Derek Uzzell
Retread24800 - 2013-02-17 1:44 PM...And at long last the 2013 book will provide GPS coordinates.Provision of GPS coordinates is mentioned in the France Passion (FP) website's FAQ Section. The relevant French-language reference translates to "Downloading of GPS coordinates will thus be possible for the 2013 membership year." Apparently instructions on the procedure will be made available when the 2013 guidebook is distributed in March, but the reference to "downloading" is strongly indicative that GPS coordinates will not be published in the FP guidebook. France Passion membership for 2013 can be purchased vai Vicarious Books (£22)http://www.france-passion.co.uk/?gclid=CLHo3Mesv7UCFUnMtAodU2AAUwor via the French FP website (€29)https://www.france-passion.com/fp/form/gb/renouv/gb_renouv.php
Derek Uzzell
France Passion 2013 documentation is now available. GPS coordinates for France Passion sites will apparently be provided as a cost-option and involve downloading software. It seems that the procedure involved is still a work in progress. http://www.france-passion.com/gb_accesadherent.php
