degsy
We have just spent a few days in the motorcaravan in Anglesey. Walking along the coastal path and enjoying the beaches in glorious very hot sunshine. That's the upside, the downside is that I've been bitten by every damned insect that passed by. I've tried various natural remedies that don't seem to work and I don't like the idea of spraying myself with chemicals like an east Anglian wheatfield. The only other option is to go out in the sun covered from head to foot which sort of defeats the purpose. Any suggestions for deterring mosquitoes, horse flies, bees, wasps etc. etc.? jlough
I live in North of Scotland where we have midges that bite well beyond their size! Used to recommend Autan from Boots but now only use Skin-so-Soft from Avon. It works and smell good as well. Some of our sites up here sell it but best to get from a door salesperson when frequentlt they have a two for one offer!

oldie
When I was in Hong Kong in the 60's, there was a spate of miscarriages due to women drinking iced Coca Cola!....it contains quinine. If your not pregnant, perhaps it's the way to go. 8-) 8-)
Ranger
Hi Oldie, I was in Hong Kong 65 to 67, did not get bites as lived on 11th floor. It seems mosquitos do not like heights. Smoked a pipe at work, that kept them away. And they did not bite during typhoons, that sort of grounded them for a few days.
