Mike-the-red
Hello, I am looking for a sight very close to the foot of Mount Snowdon, so i can leave the van pitched and walk up the mountain. Anyone got any ideas, you have always come up trumps for me in the past! cheers Mike Norsworthy
Ranger
Hi Mike, Snowdonia Park Campsite, tel:- 01286650218, or try :- www.snowdonia-wales.net also quite a bit of info: on Google. I have not been up there for about 20 years, it was OK then.
Clive
The last time I walked up (to save half the train cost as I am tight) I found that cost of the single ticket down was the same as the return ticket, so we walked down again. But that was a very very long time ago! I think we would be frowned upon if we used a motorcycle! Enjoy C.
colin
10/15? years ago we stayed at eastern end of Llyn Gwynant on A498. This was a basic site we where camping so don't know if they take vans (or even if still open) Its a tough walk up from here but much less crowded, not for the fainthaerted or unfit. lesandy247
If you fancy a bit of wild camping, there are a few good laybys off the road between Capel Curig and Penygrwyd. Only a 20 min or so walk to Penypass from there.
