gobur
I have recently purchased an Autosleeper Harmony based on 1990 2ltr.petrol Talbot Express. Tyres fitted are 185 sr 14 according to Talbot owners hand book the pressures should be Front3.5 bar/50psi rear3.2bar/45.5psi. On checking pressures set by dealer I found Front 60psi rear 56psi Can anyone out there advice on the correct pressures for this vehicle. (?) (?) docted
Gobur there is a further thread on the forum just now "tyre Pressures" the information there is as good as it gets. Docted
Derek Uzzell
gobur: A caveat missing from the "Tyre Pressures" thread mentioned by Docted is that the tyres fitted to a motorhome (in fact to any vehicle) must be suitable for it. I'm concerned by your comment that your tyres are "185 sr 14" as this is essentially a 'car-size' tyre. There are reinforced car-tyres that would be adequate for lightish motorhomes, but it's impossible to say whether yours are OK without more details of the tyres themselves (particularly the Load Index - a number that follows the size data). Before worrying about tyre-pressures, it might be wise to ask a tyre specialist to confirm that your present tyres are sufficiently robust for your motorhome. Mike Chapman
Hello Derek, Your reply raises an excellent point if Gobur's tyres are reinforced car tyres. An additional comment, if they are car tyres the pressures being used may well be in excess of the maximum for the tyres. (50psi?). I would suggest a trip to the local tyre dealers to get them checked out. Regards, Mike.
