levelling a tag axle motorhome

You level a tag in the same way as a 'van without a second axle at the back. i.e you only need a ramp under 1 of the pair of wheels on each side. Just don't go over the top of the ramp, when backing on to it, leaving the ramp between the wheels especially if you have no / little room behind you.

I notice that Milenco's website suggests using Quattro levellers back-to-back for tandem-axle motorhomes.

Presumably the idea is that this minimises the likelihood of a scenario where (as Frankkia warns against) you drive over the top of a single leveller and end up with it jammed between two wheels. (If you accidentally drive over the top of a Quattro, it's an awful long way down!)

I have a pair of Milenco Quattros, but I don't care for the design. The Quattro's four 'stages' have peaks at their ends and it's very difficult to position the motorhome on the levellers so that those peaks don't dig into the tyres' tread. This may not actually matter (tyres are pretty tough), but it certainly looks worrying. I understand the logic behind the peaks (they are supposed to 'pocket' the tyres) but I'm not convinced and I'd rather the peaks were not there. See this long earlier thread:

Milenco Quattros are big and provide the highest 'lift' available. They are also heavy and, if weight is a valid indicator in levellers of strength, should last. For a large heavy motorhome, if you want to have the ability to level the vehicle on steep slopes, Quattros shoud be a good choice. However, you may want to ask yourself how often you are likely to need the amount of lift Quattros offer.

I also have a set of more compact levellers that have the traditional wedge-shape design. I use these most of the time and only deploy the Quattros on steep slopes. As I actively try to avoid parking on steep slopes, the Quattros are very rarely brought into play.

Given the width of the tyres found on tandem-axle motorhomes, you'd be best to opt for a wide leveller. This probably means the Milenco Quattro or Fiamma "Level Up Jumbo". The latter are shorter, lighter, and have less lift, but at least there are no pesky 'peaks'.
